Hey everyone! The Art & Archaeology Trip to Chicago is scheduled for Thursday, March 24. There are some exciting things going on in Chicago museums in March and we can’t wait to share them with you.
The main attraction of the trip will be China's First Emperor and His Terracotta Warriors at the Field Museum. You can read more about this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the ancient Chinese sculptures here. We will have a group of discounted tickets for you to purchase. At the Art Institute, a special exhibit, Van Gogh's Bedrooms, will feature artwork from the Vincent van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and the Musee d'Orsay in Paris.
More about the Trip to Chicago
The trip to Chicago is an all-day adventure. The bus leaves Building 3 at 8am and arrives back at about 11:30pm. Thursday, March 24 was specifically chosen for a couple of reasons. First, Thursday evenings are free at the Art Institute and it’s open until 8pm (however, to see the Van Gogh exhibit during the free evening, you will have to pay a fee of $15).
The second reason we selected this date is because the next day is a holiday at BHC – which means some well-earned rest after a full day for students. So clear your calendar and reserve your spot!
