This Fall, 3-D Design is taught by Professor David Murray at BHC. This class shows students how to create interesting 3-D art works using a variety of techniques and materials. So far this semester, students have worked on relief sculptures (viewed from one angle) made from cardboard as well as "in-the-round" sculptures (those that can be viewed from any angle). It's definitely a class that can make you think in a different way, especially if you're used to thinking in "two dimensions".
This Sunday (Sept.25), open lab hours will begin at 12:30pm instead of the typical 11am. It will conclude at 3pm as normal.
The Trip to Chicago is scheduled for Thursday, November 10. The price is $30 per person. We are taking reservations now. There will be drop off points at the Field Museum, the National Museum of Mexican Art, and the Art Institute of Chicago.

More about the Trip to Chicago
The trip to Chicago is an all-day adventure. The bus leaves Building 3 at 8am and arrives back at about 11:30pm. Thursday, November 10 was specifically chosen for a couple of reasons. First, Thursday evenings are free at the Art Institute and it’s open until 8pm. The second reason we selected this date is because the next day is a holiday at BHC – which means some well-earned rest after a full day for students. So clear your calendar and reserve your spot!
Making your Reservation
Reservations for bus seats go through Melissa. The price is $30 per seat and can be paid by cash or check written out to “Black Hawk College”. Payment is due at time of reservation. Reservations not paid within 48 hours may be discarded. Email to make arrangements or stop by to Building 4 room 135 in the Art & Vis Com offices. Reservations are first come, first served.

Discounted group tickets for the Field Museum can be purchased in advance through Rachel. The Discovery Pass includes the Terracotta Warriors exhibit and is $22 for students. All-access passes are $27.25 (students) and $32.50 (others).
